My name is Matthew Garelick. I am the Executive Chef at the private executive dining room for one of the most prestigious banks in America and I have almost 20 years of experience in restaurants and hotels. Along the way, I have served royalty, athletes, musicians and movie stars along with thousands and thousands of average folks like you and I. You can say I know a thing or two around the kitchen!
When the Covid pandemic hit in March of 2020, I had the idea to start making these videos as a means of staying connected and bringing a little bit of joy and kitchen know-how to our hotel staff that is stuck at home indefinitely. While the situation outside has not changed that much, I felt it might be nice to share with the rest of you as well.
Zoe, my 6 year old daughter and the real star of this show, hope these videos make you laugh, encourage you to cook for your own family and hopefully help you learn something as well.
With any cooking project, the goal here is to enjoy the process. Don’t stress and don’t worry if it isn’t perfect or what you expected. There will be many more tries down the road. Cooking should be, at its fundamental essence, a means of connecting and nourishing families and friends. So take your time, cook with love, have a drink, share a laugh, stay safe, stay sane and, most importantly, HAPPY COOKING!
